SHERRY FERGUSON

Grades 3, 4, 5

Hello, my name is Sherry Ferguson and I am a native of Duluth. I attended Gwinnett County Public Schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade, graduating from Duluth High School.  I earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and worked in the business world for ten years before becoming a professional school counselor.  I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of West Georgia and a Specialist degree in Professional School Counseling from the University of Georgia.

This is my tenth year in education and ninth year as a professional school counselor at Ferguson Elementary.  Ferguson Elementary is named in memory of my late grandmother Dartha B. Ferguson and it is an honor and privilege to serve the school that bears her name.  I am excited about working with third, fourth , and fifth grades this year.  I look forward to being in your students’ classrooms guidance, working with them in small groups, and seeing them on an individual basis. Partnering together with parents and teachers we can remove barriers to student learning and help each student achieve his or her highest academic potential.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, attending University of Georgia football games, and time in the gym trying to stay fit. I am looking forward to another wonderful school year at Ferguson Elementary.  Please feel free to call or email me if I can be of assistance to your student.

I also might see them individually throughout the year. I hope to help all of our students reach their full potential and have a wonderful year at Ferguson!
